Healthy Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls

This is an easy and healthy dinner made with extra lean ground beef, can also sub for chicken or turkey, cabbage, garlic, and tomato. The kids LOVE this! Serve with rice for a comforting weeknight dinner, you’ll have tons of leftovers too Also, the longer it stands the better it tastes! Enjoy! xo 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 pounds extra lean ground beef

  • 1 large onion, chopped

  • 1 small head cabbage, chopped

  • Olive oil 

  • 1 cup tomato sauce - I love RAO’s or Victoria’s from Costco (can use more if needed)

  • 1/4 or 1/2 cup beef bone broth

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

    2 stalks celery, chopped 

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

    1 teaspoon paprika 

    *optional jasmine or brown rice 

DIRECTIONS:

1. In a large pan medium heat add olive oil, onions and garlic and cook until until soft. Then add in the cabbage, celery and sauté for 5-10 minutes.

2. Add in the bone broth bring to a boil on medium heat and cook cabbage mixture until cabbage is cooked through and soft and liquid is gone and mostly absorbed,

3. Add in beef, all spices and cook until beef is cooked through. Add your tomato sauce and cook for an additional 5-10 minutes to lets all of the glavours merry and serve as is or over rice!
